01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

When both Okinawa soba and a rice bowl sound tempting, Chimudondon’s “variety lunch” offers a way to have both. One diner paired a rafute rice bowl with soki soba, noting that even the mini-sized bowl was satisfying and that the seasoned egg went particularly well with the rice. Another lunch guest enjoyed the soba’s gently flavoured broth and noodles, along with its tender soki.

For a little of several things, there is also the lunch-only Chimudon Gozen. One diner’s set included mini Okinawa soba, beni-imo croquette, vinegared mozuku seaweed, jimami tofu, Okinawan sashimi, rafute and goya champuru. Set meals are also available, including goya champuru or fu champuru served with rice, soup and a small side dish.

In the evening, goya champuru and rafute make a good starting point for a meal of Okinawan small plates. The menu includes Orion draft beer and awamori to have with your food. If you want to finish with a noodle dish, keep Okinawa soba in mind. The restaurant is in Takaban, Gakugei-daigaku.
